Abstract:
This foldable display (1) includes: a flexible display panel (4) that includes a shock absorption layer (2) including a metal film and a display layer (3) provided on one surface of the shock absorption layer (2); a first region (R1) and a second region (R2) that are regions of the flexible display panel (4), and a third region (R3) positioned between the first region (R1) and the second region (R2); a first non-flexible support substrate (5) for supporting the first region (R1) from the shock-absorption-layer (2) side; a second non-flexible support substrate (6) for supporting the second region (R2) from the shock-absorption-layer (2) side; a folding mechanism (7) that is connected to the first support substrate (5) and the second support substrate (6) and that overlaps the third region (R3) in a plan view; and slits (SL1, SL2) provided to the metal film at a first position in the first region (R1) where the shortest distance from the third region (R3) is nearer than the shortest distance from the edge opposite the third region (R3) and/or at a second position in the second region (R2) where the shortest distance from the third region (R3) is nearer than the shortest distance from the edge opposite the third region (R3).
