Abstract:
The present invention reduces the size of an added search coil that is disposed overlapping with a search coil in order to reduce a region where detecting a foreign object is difficult. This foreign object detection device comprises a first search coil having a plurality of first coils, a second search coil having a plurality of second coils, and a control unit. The plurality of first coils are electrically connected in series so that the currents flowing through adjacent first coils become opposite to each other, and the second coils are electrically connected in series so that the currents flowing through adjacent second coils become opposite to each other. In the boundary portion of adjacent first coils, the wires of the respective first coils are disposed in parallel with and close to each other. The control unit applies a voltage to each search coil to determine the absence or presence of a foreign object. The second search coil is disposed so that the region surrounded by the wires of the second coils overlaps with an end portion of the boundary portion of the first coils.
