Title:
HepNaDC GENE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2003/029465
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Sodium di− or tricarboxylate cotransporter gene (HepNaDC gene) expressed in human hepatocyte cancer−origin cells HepG2, for example, a DNA molecule containing a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1&semi its expression vector&semi host cells carrying the same&semi expression product produced by the cells&semi an antibody against the expression product&semi drugs containing the antibody as the active ingredient, etc. Using this gene, it becomes possible to produce HepNaDC polypeptide, an antibody against it as an antigen, etc. Moreover, the biological activity of the HepNaDC polypeptide can be inhibited so that a candidate compound useful in preventing&sol treating diabetes or obesity or controlling calorie intake can be screened.
