Title:
HYDROGEN HEAT EXCHANGER FOR A HYDROGEN FILLING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/043308
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a hydrogen heat exchanger for a hydrogen filling system that uses pressurized hydrogen from an accumulator (5) to fill a hydrogen tank (8) in a hydrogen fuel-cell automobile (7). The provided heat exchanger has good heat-transfer performance and is reduced in size. The hydrogen filling system has a pre-cooling device (11) that cools hydrogen that will be put in the hydrogen tank. In the provided heat exchanger (12), which is part of the pre-cooling device, the supply pressure of a hydrogen supply channel (22) and the supply pressure of a coolant supply channel (23) are both high and roughly the same. This makes it possible to reduce the thickness of the pipe wall between the two supply channels, in comparison to conventional heat exchangers, thereby reducing the heat-transfer resistance of and hydrogen pressure losses in the heat exchanger (12), improving heat-transfer performance and reducing the size of the device.
