Abstract:
The present invention relates to an image recording method which comprises ejection of an aqueous ink, by an inkjet method, on a recording medium that is provided with a barrier layer, and which effectively suppresses deformation of the recording medium after the formation of images, while suppressing increase of the image gloss and changes of dot diameters due to the influence of the barrier layer.
An image recording method according to the present invention comprises the following steps (a)-(c):
(a) a step for forming a barrier layer on a recording medium with use of a solution that contains a polymer having an acidic group in a nonaqueous medium;
(b) a step for forming a layer containing an organic acid on the barrier layer; and
(c) a step for forming an image by ejecting an aqueous ink, by an inkjet method, on the layer containing an organic acid.
