Abstract:
The present invention pertains to an information processing device and method, and program, whereby it is possible to reduce delay time. This information processing device is provided with: an estimation that, when encoding a set of image data to be transferred, uses the transfer buffer stand-by time, which is the time required to store encoded data obtained by encoding the image data, to estimate the reception buffer stand-by time, which is the time required to store the encoded data before decoding the encoded data at the encoded data transfer destination; and a setting unit that sets the block length which serves as the processing unit for an error correction process performed at the encoded data transfer destination so that the error correction reception delay time, which is delay time imparted by the error correction process, does not exceed the reception buffer stand-by time estimated by the estimation unit. The present invention can be applied, for example, to an information processing device.
