Provided is a screw for an injection molding apparatus, the screw enabling the elimination of the uneven distribution of an added component, without imparting an excessive shear force to the added component. In the present invention, the following are provided: a plasticization step in which resin pellets P and an added component are supplied to a heating cylinder 201 that is provided with a screw 10 which can rotate about a rotation axis C and which can advance and retract along the rotation axis C, and a molten resin M is generated by causing the screw 10 to rotate normally; and an injection step in which the molten resin M which contains the added component is ejected towards a cavity. In the plasticization step, at a prescribed speed, and only at a prescribed stroke D1 or for only a prescribed time, a retraction operation is carried out for causing the screw 10 to be forcibly retracted.
