Abstract:
Provided is a joint material consisting of a first material made of steel and a second material made of metal containing magnesium into a joint material having high mechanical strength. The method of manufacturing the joint material is also provided. The method comprises a step of inserting an insert (5) between the first material (2) and the second material (3), a step of joining the first material, the insert (5) and the second material (3) and a step of heat-treating the insert (5) to control the structure thereof. The insert (5) includes a second element having a melting point lower than those of the first material (2) and the second material (3) and capacity of eutectic reaction with the second material (3). The heat treatment process includes a process of heating to a predetermined temperature, a process of maintaining the predetermined temperature and a cooling process by supplying inert gas. During the heat-maintaining process, an intermetallic compound (4) is formed between the first material (2) and the second material (3).
