Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for joint hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for sidelink transmissions and downlink transmissions. In some examples, a base station may transmit control signaling to a user equipment (UE) indicating a configuration for a joint HARQ codebook. The UE may receive a set of sidelink transmissions and a set of downlink transmissions, generate a joint HARQ codebook based on a downlink counter (e.g., a counter downlink assignment index) for the downlink transmissions and a sidelink counter (e.g., a counter sidelink assignment index) for the sidelink transmissions, where the downlink counter and the sidelink counter are jointly summed, and transmit feedback message to the base station for the downlink transmissions and the sidelink transmissions based on the joint HARQ codebook.
