Abstract:
Provided is a knock-type writing instrument wherein it is possible to suppress, with certainty, volatilization of ink from a pen tip, at least until prior to beginning use. Provided is a knock-type writing instrument A in which a refill 20 is accommodated inside a shaft cylinder 10, and a pen tip 30 delivers, by means of capillary action, ink from an ink storage member 18 accommodated in the refill 20, in addition to said pen tip 30 being freely retractable from a tip end of the shaft cylinder 10 by means of a knock mechanism 70 that constitutes the shaft cylinder 10, wherein said knock-type writing instrument A is characterized by comprising at least a seal member 40 at an outer periphery thereof in the vicinity of a tip end part side of the pen tip 30, said seal member 40 having a center part with a through-hole 42 formed therein through which the pen tip 30 can slide forward and backward when the pen tip 30 is accommodated inside the shaft cylinder 10.
