Provided in the present invention is a lithium-ion battery. The lithium-ion battery comprises a positive electrode sheet, which comprises a positive electrode coating area and a positive electrode empty foil area, wherein the positive electrode coating area is provided with large pores and a micro mesopores; the specific surface area of the large pores in the positive electrode coating area is less than 3 m2/g and greater than or equal to 1.0 m2/g; the specific surface area of the micro mesopores in the positive electrode coating area ranges from 1 to 4 m2/g; and the size of the micro mesopores in the positive electrode coating area ranges from 0.9 to 1.1 mm3/g; and a negative electrode sheet, which comprises a negative electrode coating area and a negative electrode empty foil area, wherein the negative electrode coating area is provided with large pores and micro mesopores; the specific surface area of the large pores in the negative electrode coating area ranges from 0.5 to 2.5 m2/g; the specific surface area of the micro mesopores in the negative electrode coating area ranges from 0.5 to 2.2 m2/g; and the size of the micro mesopores in the negative electrode coating area ranges from 0.4 to 0.6 mm3/g. Compared with the prior art, the lithium-ion battery in the present invention has a better electrochemical performance and can satisfy the requirements of new energy vehicles for a high-energy density and a long circulation life.
