Abstract:
A map creation device (100) creates a three-dimensionally displayed electronic map by using a coordinate system formed by X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis. First, a traffic path shape is created by a shape creation section (102) by using traffic path information formed by nodes having three-dimensional positional information and a link connecting the nodes, where the traffic path shape has a predetermined width in the direction orthogonal to the link and rises higher at its central section in the width direction than its end sections in the width direction. Then, end sections in the direction of the link of the traffic path shapes are connected by a connection section (103). The shape creation section (102) can add a thickness so that the thickness of the central section in the width direction is greater than the thickness of the end sections in the width direction. Further, the shape creation section can adjust the added thickness so that a road surface at the part where traffic path shapes are connected is a continuous surface.
