Abstract:

A message searching system and a terminal capable of displaying data that meet the user's need on a terminal even when a plurality of users copy and use a program. The system comprises a message user data base for storing the characteristics of the user at the terminal and a message transmission condition data base for storing search condition of the message to be transmitted to the terminal. A need to update the characteristics of the user is detected during the communication with the terminal, and the characteristics are updated when it is required. Depending on a request from the terminal, furthermore, the characteristics of the user at the terminal are read out from the message user data base, and a message is retrieved from the message transmission condition data base according to the characteristics of the user. The message user data base stores the date of birth of the user and the latest date of communication with the user. The user data are updated when the days obtained by adding a predetermined period to the date of birth have elapsed after the latest date of communication with the user.
