Abstract:
A method for controlling the boundary layer by suction of the air from vortex chambers provided in the aft part of the aerodynamic surface of the flying vehicle (FV), wherein the speed of the air suction is regulated being first increased until the boundary layer joins the streamlined surface and then decreased until the pressure starts to drop at the aft part of the FV. An FV provided with a boundary layer control system comprising a number of vortex chambers (1) housing streamlined bodies (2) and connected by a common channel (9) through a receiver (8) to a low pressure source (4).
