Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a technique for, in a battery in which no significant changes in a voltage value (V) and a resistance value (R) occur even when the lifetime is about to expire, estimating the remaining lifetime of the battery.
[Solution] An assembled battery (10) comprising a plurality of batteries is discharged until the state of charge (SOC) of the assembled battery becomes less than or equal to the lower limit value of a predetermined normal use range used in the charging and discharging control of the assembled battery. When the plurality of batteries are divided into a plurality of battery blocks, during the discharging of the assembled battery, the discharge capacity of each of the battery blocks is measured. The capacity difference in the discharge capacities of the battery blocks is calculated and the remaining lifetimes of the battery blocks or the assembled battery are determined based on the calculated capacity difference.
