A method, a device and a communication system for verifying validity of a terminal are provided. The same algorithm is used on both sides of the terminal and a network side device. The terminal information, a terminal device identifier and a random number are used for operation, or the terminal information and the random number are used for operation, then the terminal sends the operation result to the network side device, and the operation result is compared with the result operated by the network side device itself, and the terminal is judged whether it has the validity according to the compared result. When the terminal leaves a factory, there is a corresponding relationship between the terminal device identifier and the terminal information, while much of the terminal information can be considered to be unchangeable (that is, unable to be embezzled) during the lifecycle of the terminal, so the application of the solution can make it be identified that the terminal device identifier has been embezzled illegally and can control the service such as cutting off the net by force without influencing the usage of the valid terminal.
