Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING LIGHT SOURCES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/019700
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for detecting light sources (7), in which a series of individual images is detected by means of a camera (2) and gray values of pixels of the individual images are measured by means of a light-sensitive sensor (5) of the camera (2), wherein furthermore in an evaluating unit (6) at least some of the pixels of each individual image are combined into contiguous image areas of uniform gray values based on the gray values of said pixels and the image areas are examined for predetermined features, wherein a given image area is classified as a light source if said image area exhibits said features, wherein the sensor (5) has at least one reset value, which is associated with a pixel as the gray value if a brightness jump makes it necessary to reset the sensor for said pixel, wherein the examination for the predetermined features also comprises a check of the image areas to determine if the pixes of said image areas have gray values in a defined vicinity of the reset value of the sensor, and wherein the given image area is classified as a pulsing light source or as part of a pulsing light source if said check has a positive result.
