Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for protecting the surface of a base body which is equipped with a layer containing an optical semiconductor and a layer containing a positively charged substance or a negatively charged substance or equipped with a single layer containing an optical semiconductor, a positively charged substance and a negatively charged substance on the surface thereof, wherein the method is characterized by comprising irradiating the base body with light. The optical semiconductor is preferably anatase-form, brookite-form or rutile-form titanium dioxide. The present invention enables the provision of a novel technique relating to the control of electrical conductivity of the surface of the base body or the elimination of contaminants on the surface of the base body.
