Abstract:
This motor control device is provided with an assist torque current calculation unit (25a) for calculating a current which should be supplied to a motor, and an overheat protection limiting current calculation unit (25b): for calculating, by using an overheat protection characteristic that indicates the relationship between an overheat protection coefficient and the magnitude of a current and that is specified by taking into account the influence on the atmospheric temperature exerted by heat generation of one component of a plurality of components disposed in a passage for passing current to be supplied to the motor and the influence on the atmospheric temperature exerted by heat generation of other components of the plurality of components, an overheat protection coefficient in a case where the current calculated by the assist torque current calculation unit flows; and for calculating an actual current which is to be supplied to the motor by using the calculated overheat coefficient.
