Abstract:
[Problem] The present invention addresses the problem of making it possible to easily determine whether the current position of a moving body is in a region in which radio waves can be properly sent to and received from communication satellites. [Solution] This navigation device is provided with: a map storage unit in which map data is stored; a contour map storage unit in which contour map data pertaining to transmission and reception performance for radio waves sent to and received from communication satellites is stored; a map synthesis unit that reads the map data and contour map data from the map storage unit and the contour map storage unit and generates a composite map that superimposes the map and contour map; a position search and acquisition unit capable of finding information on the current position of the moving body; and a display unit that displays the current position of the moving body that the position search and acquisition unit has found on the composite map generated by the map synthesis unit.
