Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an optical connector and a production method for an optical connector, the optical connector being less susceptible to deformation due to biasing force generated by a biasing member even when a heat-shrinkable sleeve is used. An optical connector (1) according to the present invention comprises: a ferrule (10) having a connection end surface (10a) and a fiber hole (11); a built-in fiber (F1) having an insertion portion (F1a) which is inserted into the fiber hole (11) and an extension portion (F1b) which extends from the fiber hole (11); a connection fiber (F2) which is fusion-spliced to the extension portion (F1b); a temporary retaining member (20) into which the extension portion (F1b) is inserted; a heat-shrinkable sleeve (30) in which a connection point (P) of the two fibers is located and which is secured to an end portion of the temporary retaining member (20); a plug frame (40) having a frame body portion (M) and a restriction portion (45) which restricts relative movement of the ferrule (10) to the frame body portion (M); a cylindrical stop ring (50) which has a biasing surface (55a) and is locked to the plug frame (40); and a biasing member (60) which is disposed between the ferrule (10) and the biasing surface (55a) and biases the ferrule (10).
