Title:
OPTICAL-PICKUP CONTROLLER AND CONTROL METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2006/106909
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A notch filter (4) performs processing for attenuating the signal components with frequencies around a set central frequency on an input signal, and a temperature acquiring means (system control section (7)) detects the temperature of an optical pickup (1). A memory (8) stores the relation between the temperature of the optical pickup (1) and the resonance frequency thereof predetermined through measurement or the like. A central frequency setting means (system control section (7)) determines a resonance frequency corresponding to a temperature acquired by the temperature acquiring means (system control section (7)) based on the relation, between the temperature of the optical pickup (1) and the resonance frequency thereof, stored in the memory (8), and sets the central frequency of the notch filter (4) to the resonance frequency thus determined. A driver (5) drives the optical pickup (1) with a signal processed by the notch filter (4). Since an optical pickup controller (10) sets the central frequency of the notch filter (4) dynamically during recording on or reproducing from an optical disc, resonance occurring in the optical pickup (1) can be suppressed appropriately even if the resonance frequency varies with temperature variation of the optical pickup (1).
