Title:
PHARMACOLOGICAL AND/OR GENETIC ACTIVATOR FOR USE IN PRESERVING AND REGENERATING MUSCLE STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION BY BLOCKING SENESCENCE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/012264
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to an activator for use in preserving and regenerating muscle structure and function. The invention is characterized in that said activator is an activator of the thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR) signalling pathway in muscle stem cells (satellite cells) in order to preserve and regenerate muscle structure and function by blocking senescence. The invention also relates to a combination of a pharmacological activator for use according to the invention and of a genetic activator for use according to the invention, and also to an adenoviral vector comprising a thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR) protein sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, or a TSHR nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 for use as a medicament.
