Abstract:
According to the present invention, a plasma torch for emitting a plasma beam at a pressure below normal pressure includes: an electrode rod which forms a negative electrode and emits electrons; a nozzle having an ignition space formed therein, into which plasma gas is introduced and in which the electrode rod is accommodated to form a positive electrode in a shape surrounding the electrode rod, and having an orifice formed thereat, through which a plasma beam having been introduced into the ignition space and then ionized through an arc discharge between the nozzle and the electrode rod passes; and a power source for supplying a current between both ends of the positive electrode to generate a high-frequency arc, wherein the diameter of the orifice is set in a range larger than the diameter of the electrode rod to prevent the plasma beam emitted through the orifice from being dispersed into multiple beams.
