Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire having improved steering stability, low rolling resistance, wet grip performance, low road noise characteristics, and high-speed durability, these properties being higher than conventional levels. The pneumatic tire includes a belt layer, a belt cover layer including a wound PET-fiber cord, an undertread, and a cap tread, wherein the undertread has a thickness of 1.5 mm or larger, the ratio between the rubber hardness of the undertread and that of the cap tread is 0.9 or less, and the cap tread is one formed from a rubber composition comprising 100 parts by mass of one or more diene-based rubbers comprising 70 mass% or more conjugated-diene-based rubber and 50-150 parts by mass of silica, the conjugated-diene-based rubber having at least one modifying group selected from among a polyorganosiloxane structure and amino, hydroxyl, epoxy, carbonyl, alkoxysilyl, silanol, and hydrocarbyl groups.
