Background Art A general type of baton for the policeman or security means is simply configured as straight rod made of wood or synthetic material.

But these kinds of baton can not effectively carry out arresting or oppressing a criminal. In order to heighten the offensive and defensive performance of the baton, various kinds of improvement having special functions are made in the conventional type of JUTTE (a short rod having an auxiliary hook disposed on one side) or SAI (a rod having crotched hook on both sides). Disclosure of the Invention Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a

police baton having a boomerang projectile which acts effectively and versatilely offensive and defensive means for the security forces.

Especially the present invention relates police baton having a boomerang projectile which acts effectively for capturing a run-away suspect from a long distance and fastening a culprit by means of a binding rope.

In order to achieve the above mentioned object, a police baton having a boomerang projectile comprises a cylindrical shaft of bored body 1 having an enlarged gripper 3 shaped on one end of said body 1 and a projectile member 9 having a heavy element 10 detachably connected on the other end of said baton body 1 by latching means to the body 1, wherein a winding rope 3 wound inside said gripper 3 of body 1 as a connecting member for the projectile 9 to the shaft of 'baton is installed through the perforated hole 2 of body 1 to a roll spring 7 in the said gripper 3 for restoring of projectile 9.

Best Mode for Carrving Out the Invention An explanation of the detailed constitution of the present invention will now be discussed using the forementioned configuration of the device of the present invention.

The police baton A consists schematically a cylindrical shape of bored body 1, an enlarged gripper 3 and projectile member 9 as seen

on Fig 1. In the bored body 1, the perforated hole 2 is shaped for the transmitting a rope connected the spring 7 in the gripper 3 between the projectile member 9. A projectile member 9 having a shape of cap includes a heavy element 11 along the central portion of the axis. Inside of the gripper 3, cavity 5 is formed so that a roll spring 7 curled on the outer surface of center axis 6 can provide the rolling space of rope connected to the boomerang projectile 9.

Approximately 5 m length of rope is curled circumferentially on the roll spring 7, while one end is fixed to the spring 7 and the other end is connected to the projectile member 9.

Although it is not mentioned on the drawing, a small motor can be installed for winding the rope 8 on the center axis 6.

For locking the projectile member on the end part of body 1, a <BR> <BR> cylindrical hole 1 a is formed inside of upper end part of body 1 resulting a cylindrical shell shape and a pair of grooves in opposite on the inside of upper part on the cylinder shell is formed as a guiding and locking means for the protruding pin 9b of projectile member 9.

A detachable lid 4 of gripper 3 mentioned above is combined with the combining member 11.

The rope 8 can be made of tensed cord having a high endurance or string of synthetic fiber.

The main embodiment under the present invention is to provide a police baton having a boomerang projectile. In order to achieve the boomerang weapon, the projectile is detachable/attachable under the shooting motion of police baton. As seen on the Fig. 2, the heavy element 10 installed inside of the projectile member 9 plays a important role for providing impact or constraint after shooting from the cylinder hole 1 a of body 1. In order to launch the projectile member 9 from the body 1 of baton, the protruding pin 9b on the projectile member 9 is set to the position of vertical groove. In the case of ordinary use of the baton, the protruding pin 9b needs to be set at the position of horizontal groove for locking the projectile

member 9 to the body 1. Under the circular motion of baton, the projectile member 9 having a heavy element 10 unlocked position can departs from the body 1 of baton by means of centrifugal force caused by the circumferential acceleration of baton. After reaching to an objective, the projectile member 9 under the present invention returns to the original position due to the restoring force of rope 8 caused by a roll spring 7 in the gripper 3.

As seen on the Fig. 4, the projectile member 9 reachs the criminal or run away suspect resulting the damage or constraint to the objective. If the user excercise the boomerang projectile 9 as a catching means for the leg of runaway suspect, it would be a very useful tool for capturing the suspect.

Another embodiment of the present invention is provided a baton'having a rope as a binding means. The rolled rope inside gripper 3 is useful tool for binding the hands or feet of criminals. One can use the binding rope simply by drawing out the projectile 9 from the baton.

Industrial Applicability As described above, the police baton having a boomerang projectile under the main embodiment of the present invention is provided for damaging and constraining to the culprit or run away suspect. Nowaday, the modern society requires minimum police force to human for protecting the human right or life. Under the circumstance of run away suspect or culprit, this tool is very useful for capturing the criminal.
