Abstract:
[Problem] To prevent a deterioration in object position detection accuracy, and enable power consumption to be suppressed. [Solution] This ranging device comprises: a light emitting unit for periodically emitting a light pulse signal; a light scanning unit for causing the light pulse signal to scan within a predetermined angle range; a scanning speed detecting unit for detecting a scanning speed of the light scanning unit; a determining unit for determining whether the scanning speed has exceeded a predetermined threshold; and a control unit for controlling a number of times the light pulse signal is emitted from the light emitting unit in a scanning cycle of the scanning unit, on the basis of a determination result obtained by the determining unit.
