Abstract:
It is possible to perform non-destructive inspection and composition analysis type internal transillumination imaging of a moving sample by enabling THz tomography and THz spectral imaging not requiring scan mechanism and improving the measurement time up to the real time measurement. The optical axis of terahertz electromagnetic wave and the optical axis of probe pulse light are arranged separately so that the lights come into the electro-optical crystal with a predetermined angle and the two beams intersect each other in the crystal so that they are overlapped as planes. The THz pulse time sequence waveform information on the time axis is spread into one-dimensional space by using the time-space conversion in the electro-optical crystal and detected by a two-dimensional imaging device, thereby omitting the time axis scan. Moreover, the remaining one axis of the two-dimensional imaging device is used for one-dimensional space imaging so as to omit sample scan. For this, an optical system is arranged for applying THz pulse to the sample by a line beam and forming an image in the electro-optical crystal by the transmitting or reflected light.
