Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a method for preparing a reduction catalyst for water electrolysis, using protective coating; a reduction electrode for alkaline water electrolysis, comprising a reduction catalyst prepared thereby; and an alkaline water electrolysis system. The method for preparing a reduction catalyst for water electrolysis of the present invention applies a protective coating method and inhibits the growth of alloy particles in a later high-temperature heat treatment step, and, thus, can prepare and provide a catalyst with a high alloying degree. As a result, a non-precious metal alloy catalyst prepared according to the method of the present invention has excellent catalytic characteristics by exhibiting hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance similar to that of platinum, which is a precious metal catalyst.
