Abstract:
In order to reinforce a connected portion of fusion-spliced optical fibers, this reinforcement sleeve heating device heats a reinforcing sleeve placed on the connected portion and shrinks the reinforcing sleeve. The reinforcement sleeve heating device is provided with: a heating element which forms an accommodating space in which the reinforcing sleeve can be arranged, the accommodating space extending along a predetermined direction and being open in one direction intersecting with the predetermined direction; and a cover arranged in a position so as to cover at least a portion of the opening of the accommodating space. The cover includes a contacting surface for coming in contact with the reinforcing sleeve in the direction in which the reinforcing sleeve is pressed into the accommodating space, in a state in which the reinforcing sleeve is arranged in the accommodating space.
