Abstract:
Provided is a signal detector that reduces the dimensions of a power detector circuit using Fourier transformation, and that carries out high speed calculations. The signal detector is provided: with a digitisation unit that outputs a digital signal obtained by sampling at a constant sampling rate and then digitising an analogue signal; a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) calculation unit that performs, after the digital signal is input thereto, a DFT calculation on each sample point of the sampling carried out by the digitisation unit and outputs a discrete periodic spectrum corresponding to the sample points; an analogue digital (AD) converter that converts the discrete periodic spectrum values to a digital signal and outputs the digital signal; and a voltage/power conversion unit that is inserted before the digitisation unit, between the DFT calculation unit and the AD converter, or after the AD converter, and that converts an input voltage signal to a power signal and outputs the power signal. The DFT calculation unit is characterised in being formed from an analogue circuit that carries out multiplication and addition for the DFT calculation corresponding to each input signal, and in only carrying out a DFT calculation on sample points up to a number corresponding to the Nyquist frequency of the sampling carried out by the digitisation unit.
