Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a signal processing device and an image display device having same. A signal processing device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a text detection unit that detects a text display area within an input image or detects a text display area related to the input image; a first brightness adjustment unit that adjusts or bypasses a brightness of an area excluding the text display area within the input image; a second brightness adjustment unit that adjusts a brightness of the text display area; and a synthesis unit that synthesizes an image from the first brightness adjustment unit with text from the second brightness adjustment unit, so as to output a composite image comprising text. Thus, the visibility of text within an image may be improved.
