Abstract:
Disclosed are a high-output solid-state scintillator with short afterglow, and a radiation detector and X-ray tomographic imaging device that use the solid-state scintillator. The solid-state scintillator contains silicon and fluorine in a polycrystalline material made from a Gd-garnet type oxide crystal of the compositional ratio represented by formula (1): (M1-x-yGdxQy)3J5O12 (In the formula, M is at least one of the elements La and Tb, Q is at least one of the elements Ce and Pr, J is at least one element selected from Al, Ga, and In, 0.5 ≦ x ≦ 1, and 0.000001 ≦ y ≦ 0.2.). The solid-state scintillator contains 1-1000 ppm by mass of silicon relative to the Gd-garnet type oxide, and 1-100 ppm by mass of fluorine relative to the Gd-garnet type oxide.
