Abstract:

A vehicle drive device has an engine (200), a motor generator (MG1) driven by the engine (200) and generating electricity, a motor generator (MG2) for driving the vehicle and generating electricity in regenerative braking, a battery (B) capable of receiving and supplying electric power from and to the motor generators (MG1, MG2), a temperature sensor (10) for detecting the temperature of the battery (B), and a control device (30) fror controlling the motor generators (MG1, MG2). When the control device (30) detects a reduction in a request value of drive torque of the motor generator (MG2), the control device (30) changes the timing to cause the motor generator (MG2) to start regenerative braking, and the change is made according to an output of the temperature sensor (10).
