Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a vehicle rearview mirror system enabling the elimination of discomfort for the driver even when the screen of a display device is made to correspond one-to-one with the aspect ratio of a vehicle rearview mirror and the ratio of the display screen of the display device is made to be different to the aspect ratio of an image acquired by a vehicle-mounted camera. [Solution] This vehicle rearview mirror system has: a display device (9) that constructs an image from an image signal output from an image reception unit (2a) of a vehicle-mounted camera (2) and displays the image on a display screen (9a); and a vehicle mirror main body (3) inside which the display device (9) is incorporated. The ratio of width of the display screen (9a) of the display device (9) in the horizontal direction and the width in the vertical direction corresponds one-to-one with the ratio of the width of the vehicle mirror main body (3) in the horizontal direction and the width in the vertical direction. The display device (9) has a signal processing unit (11) that processes the image signal and displays on the display screen (9a). An image signal clipping unit (17) is provided at a point along the signal line (SL) between the image reception unit (2a) and the signal processing unit (11), said image signal clipping unit (17) clipping image signals corresponding to parts of the image the driver (4) does not need for driving from the image constructed from the image signal output from the image reception unit (2a), and outputting to the signal processing unit (11). The signal processing unit (11) constructs an image (G1') from the remaining image signals that have been input, said image (G1') having a ratio corresponding one-to-one with the ratio of the display screen (9a).
