This washing machine is provided with: a washing tank rotatably provided within an outer tank; a centrifugal separation section (20) for separating foreign substances contained in washing water; and a water passage (19) which provides communication between the outer tank and the centrifugal separation section (20) and through which washing water flows. The centrifugal separation section (20) has: a case (20a) through which washing water flows; a hollow rotating cylinder (20b) rotatably provided within the case (20a); a washing water inlet (20e) through which washing water flows into the rotating cylinder (20b); and a washing water outlet (20f) through which washing water flows out of the rotating cylinder (20b). The centrifugal separation section (20) further has: a pump blade (20k) provided on the side out of which washing water flows, the washing water flowing in the rotating cylinder (20b), the pump blade (20k) rotating with the rotating cylinder (20b); and a rotating cylinder motor (20c) for rotationally driving the rotating cylinder (20b). The washing machine is configured so that the rotation of the rotating cylinder (20b) circulates washing water between the centrifugal separation section (20) and the outer tank through the water passage (19).
