Abstract:
The invention relates to a wing structure comprising a single lifting skin (5) and an inflatable elongated spar (3) located at the leading edge thereof. According to the invention, the inflatable spar has a substantially oval, elliptic or teardrop shaped cross-section, the lifting skin being substantially secured to an upper surface of the spar (3) at a point near a minor axis of the spar. The cross-section shape is defined by at least one resilient internal web (8) or rib (13) substantially parallel to the minor axis, which is provided within the inflatable spar (3).
