Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a glass article, capable of excellently defoaming a molten glass and preventing volatilized platinum or platinum alloy from being coagulated and mixed into the molten glass.SOLUTION: A clarification vessel 12 comprises a tubular part 21 transferring a molten glass from the upstream to the downstream, a vent part 22 provided in an upper portion of the tubular part 21 and discharging gas generated in the molten glass and a reinforcing member 23 arranged on the inner surface of the tubular part 21. The reinforcing member 23 includes a body part 23a extended in the circumferential direction of the tubular part 21 and a missing part 23b positioned at an upper portion of the tubular part 21; and in the clarification step, the molten glass is filled in the tubular part 21 and gas reaching the upper portion of the tubular part 21 in the gas passes through the missing part 23b and is discharged from the vent part 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
