Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a method for simultaneously producing dialkyl carbonates and glycols which are industrially extremely important from a carbonic acid ester of a glycol and an alcohol by using an industrially advantageous heterogeneous catalyst in a high conversion rate and selectivity. CONSTITUTION:A carbonic acid ester of a glycol reacts with an alcohol in the liquid phase under pressure. In this reaction, an anion exchange resin presubjected to the contact treatment with a reactional solution of carbonic acid esters of glycols with alcohols is used as a catalyst to simultaneously produce a dialkyl carbonate and the glycol.
