Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical module that can precisely adjust the angle of an optical component relative to a housing.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of manufacturing an optical module which has at least one optical port between an optical input port and an optical output port, and also has an optical component in a package 2, the method comprising the processes of: preparing a standard mirror 104 for simulating one end face of the package 2 where at least one optical port is fixed, and aligning the optical axis of an autocollimator 102 with the optical axis direction of the standard mirror 104, and replacing the standard mirror 104 with the package 2; adjusting the optical axis direction of an optical component making good use of the optical axis of the autocollimator 102; and fixing the optical component to the package 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
