Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel boring machine for boring a tunnel by a TBM method, the tunnel boring machine being capable of switching between boring using a cutter head and auxiliary boring using an auxiliary boring machine readily (in a short period of time), and therefore breaking through defective bedrock efficiently.SOLUTION: A TBM 100 includes an excavator 200 that is movable in a front-rear direction inside a barrel, and a cutter head 120 provided with an opening/closing door through which an arm body of the excavator 200 is projected toward a pit face side. When defective bedrock is encountered while boring a tunnel, the opening/closing door is pushed to open in a forward direction after the TBM 100 is retracted, and the arm body of the excavator 200 is inserted into an opening 123a opened when the opening/closing door opens, the arm body being projected to the pit face side. The bedrock is excavated using a bucket 240. Furthermore, a surface plate forming a bottom part of the opening/closing door 123 is removable. An earth removal conveyer 180 is projected to the pit face side through an opening 128 opened when the surface plate is removed, for transferring sediment rearward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
