Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a curl by reducing a difference in temperature between members without the need of a decurler mechanism and without changing the controlled temperature of a member feeding a recording member.SOLUTION: There is provided a fixing device which comprises: a fixing rotating body that includes a heat source; an opposing rotating body that forms a fixing nip part with the fixing rotating body; time measurement means for measuring time; and opposing rotating body temperature detection means for measuring the temperature of the opposing rotating body, wherein a recording material carrying an unfixed image is conveyed to the fixing nip part to fix the unfixed image to the recording material. The fixing device is provided with means for starting a printing operation on the recording material when a paper feed start condition on time and temperature is satisfied, and changes the paper feed start condition on the basis of information on the opposing rotating body temperature detection means when receiving a fixing operation start signal to change the timing to start the printing operation on the recording material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
