PURPOSE: To prevent the decrease in the yield of thick plates owing to fluctuations in the weight of slabs in the stage of rolling the thick plates from the slabs by comparing the weight of the slabs with the weight of the target slabs, and rolling the slabs to the product thick plates which are corrected in the variation thereof by dispersing the same to rolling width, thickness and length.
CONSTITUTION: In the stage of rolling thick plates from slabs, a slab of the requested weight designed in such a way that the highest yield of products is obtained with respect to the thick plate of the target sizes is prodused, and said slab is rolled. In such a case, the difference between the requested weight of the slab and the actual weight of the slab is detected and this difference is weighted by the accuracy of rolling width, thickness and length respectively and the differences thereof are dispersed in the rolling width, thickness and length, by which the target product sizes are corrected and with the corrected sizes as targets, the slab is rolled. More specifically, the difference between the target width and the actual width is detected after cross rolling, and this difference is dispersed into rolling thickness and length by taking the weights of the respective accuracy of the rolling thickness and length into consideration, according to which the target sizes (thickness and length) are again corrected, and with the recorrected sizes as targets, the slab is rolled in thickness and length directions.
