Title:
AMPLIFIER THAT SWITCHABLY OPERATES IN PLURAL VOLTAGE MODES ACCORDING TO LEVEL OF INPUT SIGNAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07240639
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an amplifier operative in plural voltage modes, reducing switching distortion and improving power handling by parallel output devices provided with separate switching diodes. CONSTITUTION: A circuit 10 for the respective voltage modes is provided with common drivers 34 and 38 for respective levels and parallelly arranged plural output devices 36 and 40. The respective output devices 36 and 40 are operated at a selected voltage level and connected to the common drivers 34 and 38 for the corresponding voltage mode. One output device 36 of the respective levels is connected to the output device of the next lower level. A switching diode circuit 44 is connected between the serially connected output devices 36 of the respective output devices 40. In one execution example, paired diodes are connected to the respective levels and the common terminal of the diode is connected to an input terminal. The driver and the output device of the next higher level are turned on before input signals achieve the selected voltage level. Thus, the circuit 10 performs smooth switching with reduced distortion between the levels.
