PURPOSE: To provide an air-fuel ratio sensor's characteristics analyzing apparatus which can analyze the characteristics of an object air-fuel ratio sensor for analysis at high precision.
CONSTITUTION: An apparatus analyzes the characteristics of an object air-fuel ratio sensor. The apparatus includes a sensor installation part 300 in which the object air-fuel ratio sensor 10 for analysis is installed; a gas adjusting part 200 to supply gas almost reflecting the components of an exhaust gas of an engine or a part of the components to the sensor installation part 300; a control part 100 which compares the output of the object air-fuel ratio sensor for analysis installed in the sensor installation part 300 with the output of a standard stoichiometric air-fuel ratio sensor in the case of a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio of the engine to calculate the differentiation, computes the gas composition and flow rate to be corrected based on the differentiation with the lapse of time, and which sends an instruction to the gas adjusting part 200; and a time average-of-air excessive ratio measuring part 400 to measure the time average value of a controlled air-fuel ratio.
