Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direction of visual axis measuring apparatus which accomplishes accurate measurement of the direction of the visual axis of a subject with the position of his eye balls moving by updating a correction factor automatically based on the direction of the visual axis of the subject.
SOLUTION: The direction of the visual axis of a subject is calculated by a position of visual axis calculating means D considering a correction factor stored in a correction factor memory means C based on the positions of eye balls detected by a position of eye ball detecting means A and an angle of rotation thereof detected by an angle of rotation of eye ball detecting means B. When a judgment is given that the subject looks at an object preset by visual axis information based on the direction of the visual axis calculated, the correction factor is calculated and updated automatically by a correction factor updating means E.
