To provide an asphalt rubber which ensures decrease in viscosity reduction during heated storage and is suitable for heated storage, and a method for producing the asphalt rubber.
The asphalt rubber contains a rubber powder obtained by crushing automobile tires, as a rubber powder in straight asphalt. The content of the rubber powder obtained by crushing automobile tires is preferably in a range from 5 to 30 mass% and the particle diameter of the rubber powder obtained by crushing automobile tires is preferably in a range from 10 to 5,000 m. The method for producing the asphalt rubber includes: a melting step of heating and melting straight asphalt; an adding step of adding the rubber powder obtained by crushing automobile tires while stirring the straight asphalt at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting temperature after melting; a stirring step of continuously stirring the asphalt rubber after addition while keeping a temperature equal to or higher than the melting temperature; and an ageing step of ageing the asphalt rubber in a temperature-controlled bath after stirring.
