PURPOSE: To automatically move housing of an automatic ticket examining machine so that a wheelchair can pass, and to monitor the wheelchair in a ticket barrier passage so as to make the wheelchair pass in safety.
CONSTITUTION: A noncontact communication is made between the moving mechanism 5, which moves one of a couple of housing G1 and G2 of the main body G of the automatic ticket examining machine which are installed on both the movement-directional sides of the ticket barrier passage, and a card C on the side of the wheelchair E. This machine is equipped with an actuation control means which actuates the moving mechanism 5 in the direction wherein the ticket barrier width is widened when plural communication means provided in the main body G of the automatic ticket examining machine at specific intervals along the movement direction of the ticket barrier passage P and the communication means provided on the entrance side in the movement direction of the ticket barrier passage P among the communication means communicate with each other and a judging means which judges the position of the wheelchair based on with which of the communication means the card C is communicating.
