Abstract:
PURPOSE:To aim at securing a good change gear feeling, by causing driving force to be transmitted through a power transmission channel having a smaller gear ratio than that intended to change gears temporarily. CONSTITUTION:When speed reaches the second speed gear from the first speed one with an increase of car running speed, the transmission torque of a syncromesh clutch 24 is gently increased. With engagement of this synchromesh clutch 24, the engine power is transmitted through a power transmission channel comprising a solenoid clutch 1, an input shaft 8, the synchromesh clutch 24, a second shaft 25, a third speed clutch 26, third speed gears 20 and 21 and a third speed step. On other hand, since the car speed remains almost unchanged engine speed drops and comes close to the second speed step synchronizing speed. When both speeds are nearly synchronized, the synchromesh clutch 24 is released and simultaneously a second speed clutch 19 is engaged whereby a second speed step power transmission channel is accomplished.
