To provide a small and thin battery block capable of efficiently cooling plural battery cells to minimize the influence to neighboring cells due to an abnormal heating of a battery cell.
The battery block includes plural battery cells 100 stored in a holder 20. The holder 20 has plural cylindrical storage portions 20a for storing plural battery cells 100. The holder 20 is provided with a plate 30 (31) disposed at one end thereof in an axial direction in contact with one end of the battery cells 100. The plate 30 (31) has a refrigerant chamber 70 thereon through which a refrigerant flows. A lid 50, which forms an exhaust chamber 60 into which gas discharged from openings 8a of the battery cells 100 enters, is disposed. The opening 8a of an electrode 8 communicates with the exhaust chamber 60. The holder 20 has plural grooves 21 extending in an axial direction formed on a side wall thereof. The lid 50 has plural fixing shafts 51 extending in the axial direction formed on a side wall. The lid 50 is fixed to the holder 20 with the fixing shafts 51 engaged with the grooves 21.
